Today marks the beginning of Old Powhatan Baptist’s 31 Days of Prayer for our Nation, Leaders, the Election, Revival, and Spiritual Awakening.
Our plan today was to hand out Prayer Maps of the United States for all of you to join with us in prayer for the next 31 days. Due to our power outage from the rain/ storm, we will not be meeting today. Prayer maps will be handed out next Sunday morning. These guides will help you as you pray daily for each state and its leaders. What are we praying for? Over the next days, come back to the blog for resources and guides on how to pray for our nation.
Today, let us focus on personal responsibility and personal spiritual awakening/ revival.
- Ask the Holy Spirit to search out your heart and life for sin that needs to be repented of. Then REPENT, turn from sin, to Christ… in faith that Jesus is the forgiver of sins.
Search me, O God, and know my heart! Try me and know my thoughts! And see if there be any grievous way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting! (Psalms 139:23-24)
- In brokenness over your sin, fall in humility on the love, grace, and mercy of Jesus. No comparison to others, no blame but self and sin… then find your rest and restoration in Jesus. As we seek and find this restoration in Jesus, we will be better prepared to pray for the restoration of our nation and leaders. Grief over sin is appropriate, but MUST lead to repentance and restoration.
For godly grief produces a repentance that leads to salvation without regret, whereas worldly grief produces death. (2 Corinthians 7:10)
