UPDATE FROM PASTOR BRAD ON THE GOVERNOR’S EXECUTIVE ORDER – MARCH 30, 2020

First, here is some great information and some food for thought and prayer from an article written about how we, as believers should respond.

AS OF MARCH 30, 2020, THE GOVERNOR’S EXECUTIVE ORDER DOES NOT CHANGE OUR OPERATING PROCEDURES… WE ARE COMPLIANT TO THIS ORDER IN THESE WAYS…

1. THE CHURCH BUILDING REMAINS CLOSED FOR SERVICES AND MEETINGS UNTIL THIS ORDER IS LIFTED. THIS IS GOOD FOR OUR HEALTH AND SAFETY AND THE HEALTH AND SAFETY OF OUR COMMUNITY.
2. OPBC STILL LOVES GOD AND LOVES OUR NEIGHBORS – STAYING AT HOME AND NOT GATHERING IS A WAY TO LOVE OUR NEIGHBORS
3. OPBC SUPPORTS OUR MEDICAL PROFESSIONALS AND FIRST RESPONDERS. MAKE MASKS AND PRAY!
4. PRAY FOR YOUR LEADERS AS WE NAVIGATE THIS STRANGE TIME.
5. GIVE GENEROUSLY – POWHATANBAPTIST.ORG/GIVE-ONLINE– help us Proclaim the Excellencies of Jesus.

• OPBC Leadership Continues to meet weekly online to discuss plans and strategies. Please pray for wisdom.
• A small team is gathering each week to serve the church and the community by recording and streaming Bible Studies and services. Thank you for serving!
  • Services will post each Sunday at 11AM on Youtube and Facebook. Make sure to “Like” and “Share”
  • We are planning something SPECIAL for Easter on April 12! Stay Tuned!
• Wednesday Evening Bible Study and Prayer Time is online each Wednesday at 6:30PM. Check your email or our Private Facebook Group for updates.
• Sunday School classes will start meeting ONLINE for fellowship and Bible Study THIS WEEKEND. Contact your Sunday School teacher for more info and watch your email and Facebook for updates and links.

2.  Online and text-to-give options are up and running. Help support the ongoing work of the church and of our missionaries around the globe… many who are serving in areas impacted directly by the virus. See giving options HERE.
3. In the event of any outbreak/ emergency among OPBC folks, the Deacons are ready to get information to all of our members VERY quickly. Make sure we have your cell phone number on file so that we can send you text updates. 
4. We also stand ready with meal trains, grocery shopping, and other provisions to take care of those vulnerable members who may need assistance as things evolve. Please contact your Deacon to let us know of your needs.
