State of the Church Address Recap

For the past two Sundays we have explored John 15 and kicked off our theme as a church for 2014… One With Christ. As we recapped what the Lord has done in 2013 and look forward to what He is in the business of doing in 2014, we looked at 4 things Jesus is up to as we abide in Him…

1. Jesus is in the business of GIVING LIFE.

2. Jesus is in the business of GROWING MUCH FRUIT.

3. Jesus is in the business of GLORIFYING THE FATHER.

4. Jesus is in the business of GREATER JOY.

Two practical realities that should resound throughout the year as we remember that Jesus has written the end of the story, and for those who are IN CHRIST, that ending is new life and a new beginning and FULL JOY… these two realities should change the way we relate to each other and to the culture… even a culture that hates us and hates Jesus…

1. It is not your job to protect yourself.

2. It is not your job to protect Jesus.

It is your job to PROCLAIM Jesus to and in the culture.

Here are the two parts of the State of the Church Address along with the video we showed this morning to challenge us to abandon ourselves to Jesus and His commands and His greater reward. May 2014 be a year of never turning back, but pressing close to the Abiding presence and power of Jesus Christ.
