This is the week I get super excited for each year… Andrew Peterson and his band of friends and cohorts come to town tomorrow night for the Behold the Lamb of God concert. As they tour around the country, they spend the evening with folks demonstrating community, artistry, excellence, and leading us in worship. I love the humility of Andrew Peterson as he gives the stage to his friends, pointing the spotlight on them and on their immense talents… Over the years, we have grown to love not only the music of many of these artists, but to get to spend some time with them as well. We will is Andrew Osenga this year. To be able to hear the music, and to know the hearts of the people singing makes this a moving experience every year.
THEN Andrew points all the spotlights directly onto Jesus as he leads us on a true, tall tale of the coming of Jesus.
Each year Jo Anny, Chesed, Charisa and I head to the nearest show. Sometimes that’s up to 5 1/2 hours away. But for the past several years, we’ve been able to drive into Richmond. Convenience is a great thing…
Each year, we also strive to get another family “hooked” on these artists we love. We love that fact that our church family has fallen in love with these artists and their music… as well as the tradition of kicking off our Advent season in this way.
Anyway… do yourself a favor… get your tickets and go. http://www.andrew-peterson.com
