Without a doubt, we must be prudent and responsible, both in observing the recommended measures and also maintaining our health.

The world population seems to be in panic. But for Christians, it’s important to emphasize that there’s no reason to experience such anxiety. Especially when we consider that the God of the heavens and the earth is the same God who controls every microbe, atom, or molecule.

This is a good time for Christians to demonstrate sanity, peace, and hope, recognizing that our lives do not depend on the entry of a micro-organism into our bodies. Instead, it depends on the God who determines the beginning and the end of our history on earth.

The apostle Paul calls us not to be anxious for anything (Phil. 4:6). We can call Christians to peace in the worst circumstances because of God’s sovereign control over his creation.

Philippians 4:5-9

5 Let your reasonableness⁴ be known to everyone. ^qThe Lord is at hand; 6 ^rdo not be anxious about anything, ^sbut in everything by prayer and supplication ^twith thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. 7 And ^uthe peace of God, ^vwhich surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.

8 Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable, if there is any excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think about these things. 9 What you have learned⁵ and ^wreceived and heard and seen ^xin me—practice these things, and ^ythe God of peace will be with you.

• PRAY THAT WE WILL BE REASONABLE IN THE MIDST OF HYSTERIA AND FEAR

• PRAISE THE LORD THAT HE IS NEAR TO US AND PRAY THAT WE WILL REMEMBER THIS GREAT COMFORT AND TRUTH

• PRAY THAT WE WILL NOT BE ANXIOUS, BUT WILL PRAY THEN PRAY AGAIN, WITH THANKSGIVING THAT THE LORD HEARS US

• PRAY FOR THE PEACE OF GOD TO GUARD OUR HEARTS AND MINDS IN CHRIST JESUS

• PRAY THAT WE WILL BE PEOPLE OF TRUTH – NOT SPREADING FEAR AND HYSTERIA BUT ONLY SHARING THAT WHICH IS TRUE

• PRAY THAT WE WILL BE HONORABLE, NOT BLAMING OR USING THE FEAR FOR PERSONAL GAIN OR INAPPROPRIATE HUMOR/ SARCASM/ SATIRE

• PRAY THAT WE WILL BE PURE AND COMMENDABLE IN OUR SPEECH AND IN OUR TREATMENT OF OTHERS

• PRAY THAT THE LORD WOULD ANSWER AND SHOW HIMSELF IN POWER TO BRING HEALING, AN END TO THE FEAR AND PANDEMIC, AND ULTIMATELY PEACE
