A Better Than Anything Christmas: Day 13

Adapted from A Better than Anything Christmas: Explore How Jesus Makes Christmas Better by Barbara Reaoch.

Each day until Christmas, I will post a Scripture Reading and a couple of questions from the book, as well as one of my favorite Advent/ Christmas songs to set our hearts toward Jesus this season.

DECEMBER 13, 2020

READ LUKE 2:34-35

What did Simeon know about Jesus? What did Simeon say that Jesus knows about our hearts?

READ JOHN 14:1

Everybody’s heart is filled with something… and Jesus came to fill our hearts with truth, love, joy… with Himself. Not everyone’s heart is filled with Jesus… and Simeon says that Jesus came to reveal the thoughts of many hearts. What do you think about most of the time? What does your heart want most of the time? Is is selfish or is it looking out for others? Is it full of Jesus or full of self?

Jesus calls us to believe in Him… to set our hearts and minds on Him and to trust Him. Then He drives out fear and assures us that we are the children of God.

PRAY: Thank God that Jesus sees our hearts and changes our hearts to trust Him. Ask God for more thoughts of Jesus and ask God to help you trust Jesus more.
